Todays adventure on the small coast road…
We had nice trip! 15 km with dogs on the motorbike to the beach in Pina Plata
Market at the harbour in Davao
Boat trip and the harbour in Davao city
Today we woke up early!
As I have written earlier the philippin people wakes up very early in the mornings. Guess it´s because it gets dark 17.30 all year and the sun goes up around 4.30. My dogs were barking at 5.45 and then we heard a man at our frontdoor. The lock was broken and he came to fix it. That was to early for us so we sent him home. We don´t go to bed like the philippines in the evenings, ha ha. The man came back later today and now the door is as new again.
This morning we went to Babak again to see how it goes with the apartment we are moving to. It´s 6-8 men working on the building so it goes fast. After we took a walk to the center of the small city. Takes just 3-4 minutes to go come to the center. We have to explore the town a little bit more. The shops are not modern as in Europe but we like them as they are, even if it´s dirty inside and you can see a mouse running on the floor. Nothing gets my eyes big anymore, i have seen so much strange things. They have animals everywhere, all sorts. We have some rats running on the electricity cable every evening where we live now. I see them when i´m working on our terrace in the evenings. Sometimes they stop in front of me and sees what i´m doing and then they run away again. It´s just 2 meters away from where i sit, he he. I´m not scared anyway, they are quite cute.
To be a white man here is really amazing, it´s like living on another planet. Everything is so different here also the people. They always have a smile on their faces. They walk under the umbrellas and have towels around the heads to get some shadow. Often they wear long jeans and sweatshirts to hide the skin from the sun, For them it doesn´t matter how warm it is, and it´s often around 32-34 degrees. I have as little clothes as possible on me, ha ha. This travel will give me and George a lot of life experiences. That´s why we came here and i´m very grateful for that.
A new lovely puppy is often our gest now. She and her mother lives in the neighbors house but the puppy prefere our company now. We call her Monica and we like when she spend her days with us. I belive she is around 16 weeks old. She gets a lot of food and like to relax on our terrace. She has a very nice personality but my dog Elvira is a little jealous. My heart would like to take her with me to Spain, but i´m not going to. She would be a lovely company for my mother and sister in Sweden. ♥
Do you see the rat on the dark picture? That´s one of the rats i see running in front of me in the evenings. The puppy Monica with her mother on the stairs. They always sleep outside in the nights.
George outside the laundry shop, they wash our clothes every week. It cost 100 pesos for 6 kilos, It´s about 1 euro 20 cents and 10 swedish crowns. The lovely pig lives in front of us, in one of the neigbors gardens. Sometimes they move the animals to other places so they have new grass to eat. Basket is a big thing here, and we often see them play…
Everything is fine here!
No hurricane and no bad weather where we live. We are lucky and wish that the islands around Cebu make the best they can about this bad situation. We were in Manila the 6th of november and that city is crowded by people. I am so happy we choosed to stay in this area of the Philippines, this part never get those weather conditions. I want to feel safe when i travel. Soon time for bed, she is 22.30 and i´m so tired…
Have a nice day where ever you are!
Heard that bad weather is coming here!
We live at Samal island and around us there is very high mountains. Those mountains protects this island from hurricanes and tyfones so it feels very safe to be here. Also heard that there is very big waves, 8 meters high coming to some areas. The north part of Mindanao will have some problems as it seems now but we live far away from that part so we are not worried. If we see that the sea is getting high we will go up to the house where we lived in the beginning. It´s on a big hill, and many meters above the sea level. We have flashlights, batteries, blankets and water in case we need it. The owner of the apartment and the houses here also have a big generator so we often have electricity when the normal one doesn´t work. The philippine people around us are not making any preparations, they are calm and don´t bother so why should we. We relax and takes it easy, and if something would happen the philippine people are always very helpful. The internet is not working in bad weather so maybe i can´t write on this blog for a while. The Swedish Embassy has all the information they need in case something drastic happens here and they need to look after me and George. My philippin mobile number is 0063 9276542571 if someone is worried and needs to be in contact!
We have beautiful weather today and around 33 degrees, so will continue and have a nice day…
Here you see som pictures from the resort close to our new apartment. It´s low water on the pics, the high water is always coming in the afternoons. It will take us 5 minutes to walk to the beach.
Me working on the terrace…
Me working on the balcony. The internet is not so good here and sometimes it makes me crazy but i manage anyway. We live temporary in an apartment because som russian people wanted to rent the house up on the hill. That was okay for us and it´s more fun here with all the philippin people. It´s like looking at a fun movie when looking in to their lifes…
Some funny pictures…
A firecar, it came out so much smoke from it on the road so one could believe that the firecar was on fire itself, ha ha! And it was not driving fast, they need a faster one! The tricycle on the fairy was filled with people in the rainy weather. Also the busdriver had some rest with his feet out through the window…
